9.1.9. A Home Coming & Grand Opening
$150.00

Woodard’s Garage & Grocery Grand Opening

Taking place on September 19 (9-1-9)— also the Capital city’s area code, this gathering is a ceremonious call back home for anyone with roots in the South-East. Honoring the possibilities of home and the activation of inheritance.

Gabrielle and friends will weave food, story, music and sound into the telling of the menu’s origins and her own family’s journey of stewardship. This multi-course thematic supper and celebration centers tradition, cultural inheritance, and the reframing of wealth by centralizing heritage ingredients from growers, hunters and fisher-folk alike.

WGG is a former mechanic shop transformed into a cultural institution, a diner and grocery that uses heritage foodways, skill-sharing, and storytelling to preserve cultural inheritance and reactivate dormant spaces as sites of community, memory, and belonging.
