Woodard’s Garage & Grocery is a makers space that supports imagination and cleverness across mediums. Through workshops, led by neighborhood experts, and teachers from all over we will explore the term “we have everything we need”. Welding, wood work, sewing, cooking, and writing workshops and labs available to both members and non-members.
Dine In or Take Out
Every Friday - Sunday at the Diner, we will offer a special menu shaped by Gabrielle’s heritage as an AfroCarolinian, as well as the stories, folklore and history that run deep through this part of the South East. The grocery is open late, and you can buy candy, local preserves and fresh baked bread, with a limited al a carte menu and prepared foods.
This intimate canning workshop and lunch will feature the wisdom and technique of Elder Maryanne Stewart, as she walks us through how to make her hot n sweet chow chow.
Chow Chow is a Southern Institution and condiment that preserves the abundance of summer in a well balanced pickled condiment form.
Cabbage, peppers, tomato, and onion, are all a part of this well balanced and versatile topping. Dress beans, braises, fish, proteins, mushrooms, and anything else you want to taste delicious. This workshop comes with a 1 on 1 plating demonstration and local lunch prepared by Gabrielle E. W. Carter (veg option available).
