Taking place on September 19 (9-1-9), North Carolina’s capital city area-code; this gathering is a ceremonious call back home for anyone with roots in the South-East. Honoring the possibilities of home and the activation of inheritance.
Gabrielle and friends will weave food, story, music and lore into this special evening, centering themes of making home and returning through her own family’s journey of stewardship in the Carolinas. This multi-course thematic supper and celebration centers tradition, cultural inheritance, and the reframing of wealth by way of local heritage ingredients from growers, hunters, and fisher-folk alike. Come prepared to dance, bless the space and fellowship.
WGG is a former mechanic shop on sacred land being transformed into a cultural institution, a diner and grocery that uses heritage foodways, skill-sharing, and storytelling to preserve cultural inheritance and reactivate dormant space(s) as sites of community, memory, and belonging.
