This is the first part of a no-recipe cooking class series created to strengthen your ability to improvise on a daily—creating flavor without a long grocery list of ingredients.

This class is about familiarizing yourself with the foundational ingredients and techniques that make it easy to improvise delicious food in a pinch. I will share passages and suggested reading to help build on what we start exploring in class. This class will not require you to purchase ingredients, we will focus our attention on what you have on hand, and what you might consider keeping stocked.

Bring your curiosity, a notepad and pen.

We will start with our pantries. Answering questions like:

  • What are some good ingredients to keep stocked, that are versatile?

  • How can we use ingredients that were purchased for a specific recipe more frequently?

  • Explore different grains, dry goods, vinegars and ferments.

What you get with this class series:

  • Suggested reading and access to some of my favorite cooking playlists.

  • Tools to center your personal preferences, tastes and imagination.

  • An intimate setting to ask me questions.

  • A safe space to learn from your mistakes and get guidance on correcting the salty, sour, sweet or under-seasoned outcome that may happen.

In the first class we will look at some ideas for bringing a meal together mostly from pantry ingredients. Attendees can cook along using items from their pantry’s if they so desire, however, this is a foundation laying class created to get you set up for success by building a better understanding of accessible everyday ingredients.

Sliding scale is available for a limited amount of spots, email revivalsuppers@gmail.com to learn more.
